Fair use

Fair use, in plain words

Faxpresso is a flat price with no overage charges. This page says exactly what that means, so there are no surprises.

Your monthly pages

Each fax number includes 500 pages a month, counting the pages you send and the pages you receive together. The count starts again on your billing date each month.

That's enough for a busy small office. Most of our customers use far fewer.

What counts as a page

  • One physical page, sent or received. We don't count by minutes or by "transmission units".
  • Cover pages count as a page.
  • Junk faxes you receive count, including the ones the filter moves to Spam. Every page that reaches your number uses phone-network capacity, so we count it the same way.
  • Faxes that fail to send don't count.

What happens as you get close

Pages this monthWhat happens
400 (80%)We email you so you know where you are.
500 (100%)We email you again, and suggest options if this keeps happening.
Over 500Sending continues, up to 100 pages a day. We don't charge you anything extra.
1000Sending pauses until your next billing date. You can contact us if you need it lifted.

Receiving never stops. Whatever your page count, faxes sent to you are always delivered to your account and your email. You won't lose a fax because of a limit.

New accounts

To protect the service from people who sign up to send junk faxes, new accounts can send up to 25 pages a day, to US and Canadian numbers, for their first 30 days. Receiving isn't limited.

What fair use means

Faxpresso is for the normal faxing of one business or office per account: sending and receiving documents with customers, suppliers, banks and agencies. It is never for advertising or marketing campaigns, spam, bulk or broadcast faxing, or "wild catch" faxing to numbers you have no relationship with, even if the recipients agreed. See the acceptable use policy.

To keep fax spam off Faxpresso, we automatically stop sends that look like bulk faxing: the same document to many numbers in a day, lots of numbers you've never faxed before, numbers in a row, or many faxes to numbers that turn out not to be fax machines. Faxing your contacts and the people who fax you is never limited this way. If a real business fax is stopped by mistake, email [email protected].

If you need more

Talk to us about a custom plan. Extra numbers ($3 a month each) share your plan's 500 pages, so they give you more lines, not more pages.

What's new
